
HAYLEY ELVINS, AT 46 - RUNNING A SECURITY BUSINESS, RAISING TWO CHILDREN AND TRAINING HARD - SAYS SHE'S THE STRONGEST SHE'S EVER BEEN.
"I've spent my entire career around discipline, resilience and performance. I specialised in Close Protection within the Royal Military Police and went on to build and lead my own specialist security consultancy, delivering everything from executive protection and counter-espionage advice to physical penetration testing and security assurance programmes.
It's a role that demands a lot. I work with senior executives, family offices and high-profile clients, so I need to be mentally sharp, physically capable and able to perform under pressure. Running a business means constantly balancing client work, business development, professional responsibilities, industry commitments and continuous professional development. On top of that, I'm a mother of two, manage a busy household and am a NED on the Board of the Security Institute.
In short, there aren't many opportunities to slow down.
Fitness has always been my constant. I've trained for as long as I can remember and currently train CrossFit several times a week. I didn't come to STAIT looking for a miracle or to be "fixed", I was already doing the work. That's exactly why the results have surprised me.
I take the capsules, the recovery protein and the tea. I find the protein “clean’ not like the brightly coloured powders full of sweeteners that I have been used to. I have also been using the balm on my fine lines. After three months, I genuinely feel stronger than I have at any point in my life. At 46, I had assumed I would be focusing on maintaining my current level of fitness and slowing the inevitable decline that many people talk about. Instead, I feel stronger, healthier and more capable than I did several years ago.
